What this page noticed

Congratulations! Your RM20,000 loan is approved, blacklist ok. Please pay RM300 processing fee first to my personal account to release the money. No need to sign anything. Offer ends today only. Send me the OTP you receive.

  • Asks for money before the loan is paid out

A licensed moneylender may only charge stamp duty, fees payable by law and legal costs, and we collect none of them before disbursement. A payment "to release the loan" is the most common loan scam.

  • Asks for a code sent to your phone

OTP and TAC codes authorise payments out of your own account. No lender needs one. Never share a code with anyone.

  • Wants money sent to a personal account

Repayments to us go only to the company account named in your signed agreement. A staff member's or a friend's account is a red flag, and so is any message saying our account has changed.

  • Promises approval no matter what

Every licensed lender assesses an application before making an offer. A promise made before anyone has seen your documents is bait.

  • Rushes you

Deadlines of minutes or hours exist to stop you checking. A real offer is still there tomorrow.

  • Says no agreement or signing is needed

The law requires a written agreement in a prescribed form, explained to you by an attestor. A loan without one gives you no protection.

What to do now

  • Do not send money, codes or documents.
  • Check the sender's number or staff ID on our verify page.
  • If they used our name, send a screenshot to our official WhatsApp so we can warn others.
  • Already paid? Call the National Scam Response Centre at 997 straight away and make a police report.

What this tool can and cannot do

  • It looks for wording that loan scams commonly use, in English, Chinese and Malay.
  • It cannot tell who sent a message. Only checking the number can do that.
  • A clean result is not a promise that the message is safe.
