Frequently asked questions
Rates and fees
How is interest calculated?
We charge a flat rate of 4.88% a year, calculated on the original loan amount over the full tenure. Because you repay principal every month, the effective annual rate on a reducing balance is higher than the flat rate. Our estimator shows both.
What is the difference between the flat rate and the effective annual rate?
The flat rate charges interest on the original amount for the whole tenure. The effective annual rate reflects that you owe less each month as you repay, so it is higher than the flat rate. Use the effective rate to compare loans.
Are there fees besides interest?
Only those the law allows: stamp duty of 0.5% of the loan amount, the attestation fee shown in your written offer, and late interest if you pay late. We never ask you to pay anything before your loan is disbursed.
What happens if I pay late?
Under Section 17 of the Moneylenders Act, only simple interest of 8% a year may be charged on the overdue amount, counted day by day and never compounded. Late payments may also affect your credit record. If you think you will be late, message us before the due date.
Can I settle the loan early?
Yes, at any time, with no early settlement fee. Under a flat rate the interest is fixed for the whole tenure and is not refunded when you settle early, so the saving comes from choosing a shorter tenure at the start rather than from settling early. Ask us for a settlement figure on WhatsApp and we will confirm it in writing.
Applying
How much can I borrow, and for how long?
From RM 1,000 to RM 1,000,000, over 12 to 84 months. All our loans are unsecured: no collateral and no guarantor.
Can I apply if I already have other loans?
Yes, you can apply. We look at your existing commitments as part of the assessment, and approval is not guaranteed.
Why do you use WhatsApp?
So this website never stores your details. You only deal with our official numbers, and you can check who you're talking to on our verify page at any time.
Will you check my CTOS or CCRIS?
Yes. With your consent, we check your credit report as part of the assessment, at no charge to you. You can also view your own CCRIS report for free through Bank Negara Malaysia's eCCRIS.
How long does approval take?
Usually within one working day of receiving complete documents. We then send a written offer; the signing appointment with a Commissioner for Oaths or other authorised attestor is arranged after you accept it.
Do I need a guarantor?
No. We do not ask for a guarantor or collateral. We do ask for the name and phone number of an emergency contact, which we use only if we cannot reach you.
Do you accept permanent residents?
Yes. Malaysian citizens and permanent residents can apply with a MyKad or MyPR.
I am retired. Can I apply?
Yes, if you receive a regular pension or other income of your own, such as rent. We assess a pensioner the same way as anyone else: the income, existing commitments and repayment history. Prepare your pension statement and three months of bank statements.
I am a housewife or have no income of my own. Can I apply?
A loan has to be assessed on the borrower's own income, so we cannot lend to someone with no income of their own. Income from a small business, online sales or rent counts, even without a payslip. Otherwise a family member with income would need to be the borrower.
Do you serve my area?
Yes. Everything up to the written offer happens on WhatsApp, so we serve customers in every state. The agreement is signed in front of an attestor, and we arrange that with you once you accept the offer.
Staying safe
How do I know the person contacting me is genuine?
Open the Verify a contact page and enter their WhatsApp number or staff ID. If there's no match, don't pay or send any documents.
How do I know MyOneCredit is licensed?
Our company name and KPKT licence number are at the bottom of every page. You can check them against KPKT's official list of licensed moneylenders. The licence page explains how.
Which bank account do I pay into?
Only into the company account named in your signed agreement. We never ask you to pay into a personal account, and the account never changes by WhatsApp message — check your agreement.
Does this website collect my details?
Only what you choose to send through the online form: name, employer, income, email, phone, purpose, state and amount. The website keeps no copy; each enquiry is passed straight to our team. The calculator and tools run in your browser. Documents are shared only on WhatsApp, and we never ask for your IC number or bank login online.
